In keeping with Inve$tWare’s tradition of listening to our customers requests and providing periodic updates to all
of its software products here is a listing of what has been addeded to Take $tock 4 since it's release.
Version 4.0.11:
- Textual change based on a low mood indicator.
- Updated the web links to the multex.com website.
Version 4.0.10:
- Fixed firewall data retreival
- Fixed rounding situation for JW.A
Version 4.0.9:
- Detect semi-annual quarterly records.
Version 4.0.8:
- Fixed Maintenance screen for companies already updated with 0 for price.
- Only update price when > 0
- Sales Growth was actually pulling EPS growth. This has been fixed so that we actually pull sales growth rate (Estimate)
- Capped Yield supported price to current price, fixed business model.
- Tool tip help for risk and reward where reversed.
- Fix for large yields --- Yield supported low price. Also new quality page to fix not enough data display.
- Accommodate searches with companies that contain apostrophizes.
Version 4.0.7:
- Fixed error when apostrophes are entered into the company finder.
- Quality Index is down graded when companies are too young or too small
- Sort by buy price will now list by relative difference between the buy price and the actual instead of the strict difference.
- Summary now includes indication that not enough positive data was available in the items to check.
Version 4.0.6:
- About window now has no caption (was ITK)
- Prices can not be updated without pulling data
- Historical Growth calculated with internal outliers eliminated
- Elimination of outliers will not automatically impact default historical growth
- User ability to set historical growth through elimination of outliers
- Recognize if user has set growth rates -- will re-estimate future growth if user has not set judgment.
- Historical growth and future growth calculations will deal with missing data years correctly.

Version 4.0.5:
- Fixed so that Menu | Help | Buy Take $tock is only displayed in Demo.
- Removed the Buy, register or demo screen. Replaced it with a local HTML page asking for the users Email and Password, which is then submitted to the web along with a machine ID. If the user cancels, then they run the program as a demo.
- Changed the judgment so that the correct outliers are removed when the user clicks on them.
- Added logic to handle stock split information that is sent in the XML file and split the stock accordingly.
- Changed logic so that the user supplied judgment in the PE analysis section is carried over to the reward section.
Version 4.0.4:
- Added logic to allow a user to use the software as a full trial version of two weeks.
- Take $tock will now remember the sort order for the companies at a glance
- Take $tock will now remember the sort order on the company maintenance screen
- The maintenance screen will scroll as you update companies so you can watch for changes.
- The program will display a brief message confirming that a company has been saved.
- Take $tock will prompt you before overwriting an existing company in your database.
- Changed the TSSW form and the calculation for the yield supported low price.
- Enter will retrieve a company in the finder if there is a ticker specified
- Added the ability for us to us a test site for take stock so we can test changes to the buy/register process before we replace the current web pages.
Version 4.0.2:
- Added logic to the installation and to Take $tock to pass a code the first time it is run to show where it came from (I.E. Web, Demo or CD)
- Added the new help topics and the help file for the profit margin tab in the judgment section
- Enlarged the large font warning box so the user will be able to see all of the message in the box.
- Changed the regession object. When eliminating the first three years of a company to project sales and EPS, the calculation was inadvertently eliminating the first three years. To test this you can use CPRT. Import it into the previous version of Take $tock and the Sales and EPS is 9.0. Import it into 4.0.2 and the Sales and EPS are 13.
Version 4.0.1:
- Fixed RTE 94 when clicking on the cancel button when verifying your Internet connection.
- Fixed the scroll bar in the companies at a glance to be more dynamic when adding companies and resizing the form.
- Program will remember the position of the main Take stock screen and the initial position will place it in the upper left to eliminate the problem of the screen opening behind the task bar.
- The web button on the maintenance screen will now show company specific sites if you only have one company selected. If you select more than one then the sites are not company specific.
- The summary screen will now remember its size and position.
- Update for the Company Finder database is hooked up.
- Put a close button ([x] in the upper right corner) on the registration screens. This is incase there is a problem with the page and the user cannot access the one on the screen.
- Added additional judgment criteria for profit margins, and the option of ignoring margins if the current trend is down. If the user chooses to ignore the downtrend, the trend indicator will change from a red down arrow to a yellow down arrow on both the judgment screen and screen 4. The efficiency indicator will change from a red diamond to a yellow diamond (providing return on equity is ok.) on both screen 5 and screen 1. The summary will show the line " Profit margins are trailing down indicating that management may not to be able to control costs." In black instead of red and it will show " (Disregarded)" at the end of the line. The Quality index will change.
- Fixed problem with the judgement not being reset properly when reset judgment was pressed. The outliers were put back into the graph, but the Sales and EPS where staying the same on both screens.
- Fixed problem when eliminating outliers, clicking the first outlier appeared to have no effect on the historical Sales and EPS on screen 4 and then the screen appeared to be "one behind" for each additional click.
- Judgement was no being shown correctly after the user had updated the company. The Outliers were not put back into the graph, but the Sales and EPS were reset back to the values as if no outliers were removed.
- Added logic to use the lesser of the trailing twelve months or the number of quarters past the last annual data grown by the historical EPS growth rate for the risk forecast low EPS.
- Changed the registration process for knowing if the user is activated or not.
- Fixed the sorting by prices in "Companies at a Glance" and in "Maintenance"
- Fixed calculation for pretax profit on the form.
- Fixed the 5-year avg. for pretax profit margins and return on equity. The program was calculating the avg. on 6 years instead of 5.
- Fixed the splash screen so the program does not crash when run in the development environment with out accessing the splash screen first.
- Fixed the growth screen HTML to remove the large space between the Historical Sales title and the text.
- Changed the summary screen HTML to not show yellow in the price field at the top.
- Changed the price update screen to so the price is selected in blue so you can type in the new price without having to delete the old first.
- Added additional checks so that the user cannot update companies or prices for companies other than the demo companies when running in demo mode.
- Fixed the web links page to show company specific sites when there is no company URL (use CHUX as an example)
- Fixed the forecast PE screen in the judgment section. It was previously striking out an extra outlier.
- Fixed the blank page appearing after printing the form then switching sides.
- Added a check at the beginning of the program to see if the user is running large fonts. If so inform the user that the fonts are not compatible with Take $tock and offer to show them how to change them.
- Moved the stored access code from the TS.ini file in the Take $tock directory to the Winkrnl.ini file in the system directory.
