Create a ticker list from Investor's Toolkit for which you want prices daily (one time setup.)
If you have many stocks that you want to update, you may want to create a ticker list from
the Investor's Toolkit rather than typing them in by hand. If you want to create such a list, follow
these instructions to put your ticker list on the Windows clipboard. This step is optional.
Open The Investors Toolkit
Select File
Select Export Data
If you would like to update a single company or just a few stocks highlight the company that you wish to import and press the button labeled SELECTED. If you prefer to update all of your stocks simply press the button labeled ALL. By performing these procedures will place the selected companies inside of the section labeled Companies Selected.
Press the down list arrow located in the section labeled EXPORT FORMAT and select ASCII TICKER LIST from the drop down list.
Press the button labeled Export.
Once you press the export button a window will appear labeled Select Export Destination, within this window the Toolkit asks you where you want to place the exported ASCII ticker list. For example if you would like to place the ASCII ticker list onto your desktop the pathway would be C:\Windows\Desktop. Double click on the folder labeled C:\ then scroll down to the folder labeled Windows and double click on it then double click the folder labeled Desktop. Once you Press the button labeled EXPORT the ASCII Ticker List will be located on your desktop.
You may now close or minimize your toolkit.
Look on your desktop for a notepad icon with the label TICKERS.TXT then double click on it.
Click on EDIT to show the drop down list then click SELECT ALL.
Click the EDIT button once moreto show the drop down list then click COPY.
Enter your e-mail address and press the "Enter" button.
Enter your demographics...at the bottom of the page press the "Enter Demographics" button.
On the bottom of the next screen, press the "Back to InfoBeat" button.
In Section 1, select the products you want downloaded each day. "FULL CLOSING BELL" is essential.
In Section 2, select "STANDARD REPORT FORM".
In Section 3, select "QUICKEN, ATTACHED".
In Section 4, put in all the symbols you want followed. ( you may also "Paste" the symbols from your clipboard if you exported them from the toolkit in the the previous section.)
Read your mail and save the price file to your computer (daily.)
Pick up your e-mail.
Open the message Infobeat sent you.
Go to the very bottom of the page and click on the attachment icon. The file will open in Notepad format.
Go FILE | SAVE AS.
Give the file a unique name and save it to a folder of your choice.
If you know where your E-Mail program stores attackments, you can skip this entire section and
open the attachment directly in the toolkit from the attachment directory. The file will be called: 'mmdd.txt' where
mm is the month and dd is the day.
