Amy Rauch Neilson
Amy Rauch Neilson has been educating beginners and profiling successful investors since 1990 - not because she's in love with numbers, mind you, but because she has witnessed how investing sets people free to pursue their dreams. Determined early on to make writing her career, she earned a degree in Journalism from Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan. Now, as an experienced journalist, she is the creator and author of the Beginner's Corner column for NAIC's Better Investing Magazine and is a free-lance writer for a variety of other publications. While Amy belonged to an investment club at one time, she is now an individual investor who learned her investment skills while working at NAIC. Her strong suit, so far as this assignment is concerned, is her sensitivity about, and interest in, the people whose lives have been enriched, as has hers, by their empowerment. Feeling that each successful club or individual has a story to tell and a lesson to share, she looks forward to bringing you those stories and lessons each month. Amy dreams of becoming a mom and a novelist and, in her spare time, enjoys Peace roses, gourmet cooking, riding on the back of her husband's motorcycle and riding on any kind of boat at all. She lives in Belleville, Michigan with her husband, Don, five dogs and two cats.
